Will act as a security escort to escort personnel within classified or controlled areas and to protect those areas, data and property from unauthorized personnel. Will also serve as escort for contractors and other personnel, and will be required to move furniture or other equipment in conjunction with office relocations.

All functions, duties, or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner and are to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.
1. Accompanies and escorts non-cleared contractor, maintenance or other personnel who are given access inside the security perimeter to perform specified work, such as construction or maintenance personnel, or any other activity, deemed by Company or client, requiring an escort.
2. Ensure non-cleared personnel are not allowed uncontrolled movement into classified/program controlled areas and that those non-cleared personnel are not allowed inadvertent access/or exposure to classified materials.
3. Maintains logs and other records regarding activities and escorts provided. Ensures immediate reporting of any breach of security procedures.
4. Utilizes safe methods and assistive equipment, maintains the site furniture inventory and performs office and/or equipment or supply relocations. This may require the escorts to move furniture and boxes and transport in a vehicle.
5. Operates technical machinery in performing assigned tasks.
6. Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assigned site(s).
7. Any additional duties as assigned or required by Company and/or Client.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY
Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position
Must be a citizen of the United States
Must be at least 21 years of age Must have and maintain a Security Officer Certification for the state in which assigned
Ability to acquire and maintain the required level of Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance
Ability to acquire and maintain all other site specific special clearances/access requirements (Department of Energy (DOE), Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), electrostatic discharge (ESD), foreign object detection (FOD)) as required
Must have and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators license if required
Must be able to left a minimum of 50 pounds
High School Diploma or G.E.D
Related experience preferred
Minimum of one (1) year experience in physical security, military service, law enforcement or a related field, sufficient to meet the minimum requirements for state and local licensing and/or site standards as established by the company.
Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirementsCompetencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for the position.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any Company or client-required training standards.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
Ability to see, hears, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)

Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.
May be required to work overtime without advance notice.
Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for up to 8 hours per day and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain. Must be physically fit to: stand/sit for a minimum of eight (8) hours, climb stairs, and walk at least five (5) continuous miles without difficulty. Local waiver may be granted to allow 180 days to comply.
Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
Speak and hear sufficiently to communicate in person and by phone
May be required to use vehicle in the performance of duties. Vehicles are to include but not limited to: cars, trucks, electric carts, and bicycles.
May be required to perform stressful physical activity.
Depending upon assignment may be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information.
