Job Description



The Security Assistant assists the AFSO in a wide array of security related functions.  This position will initiate employees’ personnel security clearance processing utilizing the Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations Processing (e-QIP); submission of fingerprints and escorting of visitors.  In addition, the security monitor will assist in preparation for security audits and end-of-day procedures, be responsible for the reception area, mail receipt and delivery and other ancillary duties and projects expected in a professional office environment.  This role may also work closely and communicate with other departments and the customer(s) as needed.


This position requires the ability to maintain an excellent level of customer service and be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task.

Main Duties:


  • Create/Maintain and update file folders of all SCIS employees
  • Initiate eQip for applicants
  • Follow up on eQip status and contact applicants when needed
  • Acknowledge receipt of PIV cards and NBIB credentials
  • Submit fingerprints
  • Enroll/Update/Reset PIN/Activation of PIV cards
  • Escort visitors
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the program

Job Requirements


Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Must possess a current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain any other specific special clearances/access requirements.




  • Basic security knowledge preferred but not required
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass all required training.


Background Prerequisites:


Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements.
